Event Description
In this virtual event, NAFSN will host a CARAT Information session for New Jersey food system professionals & advocates. CARAT - Community & Agriculture Resilience Audit Tool - is a free, open-source tool for communities to self-assess how they currently utilize the assets of their local food system to achieve a substantial level of community resilience. The event will be hosted by the New Jersey Food Democracy Collaborative and will feature Nikki Seibert Kelley of Wit Meets Grit in South Carolina, one of the lead contributors to the CARAT Project, as well as Kim Hines Leadership Co-Chair of NAFSN. In this session, we will discuss the purpose of the tool, guidance for using it, and possible variables involved in scaling it as a statewide effort.
